Vjekoslav Njezic (*1973)

Vjekoslav Njezic has graduated composition from the Music Academy in
Zagreb (class of Stanko Horvat). He worked as music producer for Croa-
tian Radio and as editor-in-chief of Ars Croatica – printed music series at
Cantus Ltd. / Croatian Composer’s Society. From 2003 – 2005 he lived
in The Netherlands were he studied postgraduate programme of Com-
position in context and Music technology at the Faculty of Arts, Media
and Technology in Hilversum. During that time he focused on electronic
music and various multimedia, fi lm and dance projects. Currently he is
employed at Music Academy in Zagreb as senior lecturer (counterpoint,
musical forms and electronic music). As composer, he has created seve-
ral orchestra, chamber and electro-acoustic works, some of them were
awarded.
In his work he is interested in the perception of time fl ow in music and
the consequences of its manipulation for the perception and creation of
electronic music. In most of his recent pieces he used patterns trough
which music is perceived not only as a linear sequence, but rather as
„shifts“ in the listener‘s awareness. (More on www.vjeko.tk).
